Medical university students have a unique opportunity to research and experiement with that area of medicine they are interested in during the penultimate year of their studies. Even though that period of up to eight weeks work experience can ber practiced in any country, many students tend to choose a developing country as their destination. Understanding how healthcare is delivered around the world adds a whole new dimension to your education.

Many students find that the patients they work with on their electives abroad have very different diseases compared to those back to their birthplace. Because of a lack of resource there are very different methods of treatment available. This is an excellent chance to learn more about tropical disease and work with advanced pathologies, and you are likely to witness things that only ever appear in medical text books at home.

Not only medical studnets find that challenging. Physiotherapy, dentistry, physiotherapy and midwifery elective students can also learn a lot elective. In many developing countries nurses’ services are being provided by family members. Learning new skills are also possible for psysiotherapists, as in the developing countries some of they techniques used are not common in the UK.

Dental students often have the most to learn, particularly those who go on a dental outreach project. A typical screening in a rural area of 1000 patients would result in 600 referrals as oral hygiene is one of the biggest problems of the developing countries. The majority of the people may have never been seen by a dentist or understand the benefits of a toothbrush. Educating the kids about the need for oral care is a high priority task in all dental workshops.

In order to succeed working as a student nurse, doctor or dentistry elective abroad, you need to be open-minded. Accept the developing world for all that it is and you’ll realise there is much that can be learnt and shared with healthcare staff anywhere in the world. The overall experience is usually so strong that it may have an impact in your perception of healthcare for your whole lifetime.

At the mention of “mens underwear” most people picture white briefs, old-fashioned long-johns, or perhaps some boxers with a fun pattern on them. While thongs can be a polarizing issue, men’s underwear should not be dismissed so flippantly.

Those who are against thongs:

Those who are adamantly against men’s thong underwear believe that thongs should be reserved for women. The skimpy underwear is revealing, leaving the entire backside exposed. Some people, and some women, consider the look to be sexy, but few people consider such underwear to be masculine.

The manly areas covered by men’s underwear are a little more complicated than those needing to be covered by women’s underwear, hence the idea that skimpy thongs should be reserved for women’s wear alone.

For those further arguing the idea that men should not wear thongs, they will say that a man in a thong just looks plain silly.

Those who are for men’s thongs:

People arguing in defense of men in thongs say there is no reason men can’t wear any underwear they choose, that thongs are no less manly than any other underwear considered “acceptable” by all.

Because of that, they can enjoy wearing their men’s underwear without questioning their sexual orientation. For some, their female significant other is who introduced them to the idea of a thong for themselves.

A well-made men’s thong can also be more comfortable than traditional men’s underwear because it provides a lot of support and coverage in the front, exactly where men need it. Because of the appropriate coverage in the front, combined with minimal fabric elsewhere, once men get used to the idea and feel, thongs are actually nicer underwear.

And even those that find men in thongs so nauseating, they are usually glad there is at least underwear being worn!

Job Zone

ISC (Independent Schools Council) actually represent 1,200 schools which educate more than half a million people. The Job Zone is an increasingly popular source for registered ISC schools to advertise their teaching jobs and non-teaching jobs; with around 30,000 visits per month, the Job Zone is well received by both jobseekers and schools alike.

One of the benefits when it comes to the ISC job zone is that they only actually have vacancies on private schools which is great for the people that are interested in this. It really is a free service which is great and and it helps people that are interested in working in independent schools because it shows the teaching jobs among other things that are available.

Why use Job Zone?

As soon as you land on the Job Zone you can actually refine the search by whatever means you want. The search us great because you can use it to specify exactly what you need whether that is going to be by English or Scotish counties and there is another site for the other areas in the UK so make sure you bare this in mind. These extensive search options will form an efficient platform for you to find the right school jobs. As well as detailed school information such as subjects taught, pupil numbers, and school facilities, Job Zone also allows you to view the school’s latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection reports to help you form a better judgment of the school(s).

ISC are responsible for all of the vacancies that appear within the Job Zone so everything is always accurate and appropriate to what you search for. Job postings on the Job Zone are frequently refreshed meaning you are seeing only up-to-date information.

How do I apply for a job on Job Zone?

You can start looking for boarding schools by logging onto www.isc.co.uk, and clicking on ‘Job Zone’. When you have refined your job search, simply follow the application process as detailed on the vacancy advertisement. This process may vary slightly between vacancies and different schools, so it is important to read the details carefully prior to application.

Police auction crowds have definitely increased over the years. Once thought of as an after thought, now days, people will wait in long lines for hours at a time to get a preview of what’s coming.Or possibly, people are becoming more aware of the possibilities of purchases at an auction.

Here are some quick informational tips to attending and bidding at a police auction in your area.

Who and Where?

There are laws in most jurisdictions that deal with how the auction will be run. The auctioneer must publish a full description of the items to be auctioned, as well as the date, time and location of the auction.

How Did the Items End Up at a Police Auction?

When it comes to seizures, states and local governments have given law enforcement the power to seize any and all property related to a crime or illegal activity. Once the property is proven to be part of an illegal activity, it is confiscated and then resold to the highest bidder. That seized property can be as small as a coffee maker and as large as a house.

You would normally have 90 days to claim it, after which it goes in to the auction.

What is the Protocol for Police Auctions?

All sold items are sold ‘as is’. There are no warrantees on anything sold at auctions, police auctions being no exception. You cannot return items, and no money will be refunded.

How to Bid?

It’s always best to go to the preview viewing of the items up for auction. Once you have an item in mind, do your research.

Warning to the Wise

I love going to auctions, and am a big supporter of police auctions in particular. But I feel I should warn you that police auctions are notorious for bringing out the inexperienced and impulsive buyer. And maybe bring a buddy who you trust to keep you in check. It takes a lot of willpower to stop bidding once you get in the rhythm, but a good friend will always tell you when to stop when you can’t.

Today, learning painting from your own house is becoming pretty popular. It seems that with the new overflow of technology that most people are becoming more comfortable with learning habits at home, rather that taking a course. It is also to note here that most famous artists were actually self-taught as well. But the biggest leg up that you have on them is now you have DVD lessons!

And when it comes to taking classes, time constraints can be a huge hassle. There is also the other problems with courses like different learning levels. More advanced painters might end up getting frustrated or impatient with the beginning students because they have to wait on them.

After I took a few learn to paint courses, I actually felt more annoyed that anything else. I work really random times for my schedules at work, so it was really hard for me to find time for classes. And after I was finally able to get off work for it, I was left frustrated and not learning anything? I felt like just giving it all up.

My goal was to learn and master painting , but classes definitely we’re working for me, so I figured I’d try something different .I had tried many times before to learn from books, but I had my greatest success with learning visually. So I decided to get Learn and Master Painting by Gayle Levee after reading the Learn and Master Painting review.

I found the high quality of the videos and the material provided to be very good. Gayle really helps connect with you, as much as you can through a DVD lesson, so I felt entertained yet learning the lessons very well. Also, I can watch the videos as many times as I want, so I am able to repeat things I wasn’t clear on.

It is very true that you don’t get the interaction of other students when you learn to do something from home, but I actually found that pointless anyway. I don’t know about all of you guys, when I pay for something with my hard earned cash, I want my money’s worth. A number of people use art classes as an extension of their social life which reduces the impact of the training for other students. Legacy Learning Systems creates this painting course, as well as Learn & Master Guitar, Learn and Master Guitar Setup, Learn and Master Ball room Dance, and others.

During the festivities of Christmas, it might be tempting to enjoy the lazy nature of the holiday, but we still need to get out of bed. We have all endeavoured to find clocks and alarm clocks as Christmas gifts that not only tell the time but also have a distinctly fun appeal. It could be for your indolent teen who appears to regard the middle of the afternoon as the “morning” or maybe for the breadwinner in your household as a reminder to get their sorry selves out into the world of commerce and bring home the Christmas turkey.

These kind of gift can prove handy right into the New Year, especially if staying punctual if part of your New Years’ resolution. Now, alarm clocks, are by definition, alarming. But really they should also be fairly annoying and insistent to ensure they wake you from your slumber. But that doesn’t mean gifts of this nature can’t have an element of fun too! Allegedly, it was Groucho Marx who said “time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana” but some clearly even more deranged comedic inventor has come up with the Flying Alarm Clock.

This might indeed be the perfect gadget as it has all the functionality of a regular clock but has a unique alarm function with an added twist. The sharper tools in the box may have already guessed what that might be, guided by the name of the device. There’s a small device on top of the clock that resembles a table-tennis pall with propellor blades attached to it. Once the alarm goes off, the ball begins to spin wildly. It then takes off skywards and fliers around the room, to the soundtrack of an extremely annoying siren alarm. The alarm will only stop once you’ve gotten out of bed and caught the small flying ball, which isn’t particularly easy. So there really will be no more of those extra five minutes in bed, and no more being late.

As far as I know there hasn’t been a song written about a ferry crossing the Solent, as perhaps it doesn’t have the same ring about it as ‘the Mersey’. Although it is linked to a popular music tradition of its own with just a short trip across the water to and island full of entertainment and promise.

I am, of course, referring to the festivals that are hosted on the Isle of Wight, notably Bestival and the official Isle of Wight festival. The largest of the two festivals is the Isle of Wight festival which dates back to the sixties when ‘flower power’ was fashionable. Previous performers to the festival are legendary, and include some of the most famous names ever to have graced the pop music scene. In this day and age, the festival gives more opportunities to unknown artists to experience the ‘big time’ in front of audiences larger than 50,000 festival goers.

The newest of the festivals is Bestival, which has only had a regular spot for less than ten years. Possibly its reputation is more concerned with the carnival atmosphere that is generated, with its importance attached to the sounds of the radio djs. The organisers at Bestival create a new theme each year, allowing attendees to create their own fancy dress costumes. If you are the lucky winner of the fancy dress costume, you could win a life-time free access to Bestival. Not bad really for a little bit of extra creative time spent with the lycra and sticky back plastic!

If you are intending travelling to one of the festivals next year, then you will have to make the trip via one of the available Isle of Wight ferries in operation. Two ferry terminals are available for passengers to and from the island: one for foot passengers, and the other for those travelling with a vehicle.

The play only needs to be five minutes long, but that is still a lot of lines to memorize. We figure that if we make the play center around a fight scene then we will not have to talk as much because we can spend some time sparring with our weapons.

Linda’s dad has given us permission to use his set of four Greek armors that consist of breast plates and Greek helmets. He has some weapons to go along with them, but will not let us use them. His philosophy is that the school would not like us to take weapons into the building. The use of old paper towel rolls will be employed in an effort to make safe swords to spar with. The paper towels rolls will need to be painted so that they look a little more authentic. The teacher will not like it if we do not try to make the paper towel rolls look a little more weapon like.

We’re going to make betrayal the theme of our play. We will have one of the soldiers abandon the battle and three of his buddies will go after him. The actors will start to argue before eventually doing combat with each other. While the battle rages on the betrayer will lose his Greek helmet to a head blow.

Once the helmet falls off they will get into a dialog. They will beg him to return to the army so that they will not have to kill him. He will refuse because he will be against what the army stands for. In the end they will kill him and the play will be deemed a tragedy. Tragedies tend to be the most emotional types of plays and we think this will help us with our grade. I’m hoping that all of our planning will get us a good grade.

Even the image of hapless birds and other marine creatures covered in a deadly blanket of oil does not shake us as much as it ought to.Oil spills have a terrible impact on the environment and the true extent of the damage they cause is yet to be fully understood.

An oil slick is huge and unpredictable in its movements and it can strike the coast at any place leaving people unprepared for what will happen next. The beaches get covered with bodies of marine creatures washed ashore because they die of asphyxiation. Animals that manage to avoid the spill are very likely to starve to death because all their natural prey would have also died in the same cataclysm.

The damage caused by an oil spill does not end at just that. If the spill area is in the path of animal migration, then a whole new population of animals will get affected by the same slick. This multiplies the potential devastation and it is very difficult for animal and bird populations to recover from such as blow.

If this was not bad enough, scientists are now conducting studies on the long term impact of oil spills on marine life and are coming up with very frightening results. This will lead to devastating effects all the way up the food chain.

This can lead to a whole lot of birth defects amongst fish and other marine creatures. The other worrying aspect of it is that this arsenic can be very easily passed on to humans, especially in populations that are dependent on the sea for their food.

We should prepare for more bad news from this quarter because the number of accidental oil spills does not seem to be reducing, whether it is from an oil rig or from a ship.

Around 8 months ago, the BBC suggested that a staggering 20% of young drivers in the UK were driving illegally (without insurance). 20% is extremely high, and converts into a massive 243,000+ illegal drivers on British roads (and that’s just the young people). In 2010, the problem doesn’t seem to be at all improving, as some reports suggest those figures could be increasing.

So why does this happen? The most obvious and immediate answer is the price of insurance (go online and get an instant car insurance quote for someone under 21 and you’ll see what I’m talking about). It seems that a large number of young people have the opinion that they don’t need insurance, as they’re a safe or sensible driver. Quite apart from the fact that driving without insurance is illegal, the illusion that young people don’t really need it is simply wrong, as statistics suggest that young drivers are amongst the most likely to have an accident.

There also appears to be an illusion amongst young people that they’re unlikely to get caught, as they’d need to be pulled over in order for the police to realise they’re uninsured. This is quite simply, a myth. The police force have ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) software than can pick up your license plate and check your vehicle for up to date tax, passed MOT and valid insurance.

The penalties for driving without valid insurance range from a fine and points on your license, to your car being impounded or scrapped. You can also receive a driving ban should you get caught driving illegally more than once.

There’s no real excuse for a young person driving without insurance; admittedly it’s expensive, but there are other alternatives available. If you can’t afford the annual policy, you could try temporary car insurance. Having suitable short term car insurance cover will mean you’re covered on the occasions you do use the vehicle, without worrying about paying an expensive annual policy.
